After my father's wife died suddenly, he was finding it very difficult to look after himself. I visited once or twice a week with some shopping and was not very happy when I saw him wearing a jumper stained down the front. I suggested he should go into a care home but my father said he wanted to stay in the comfort of his own home. A friend told me about live-in carers and how they could come and look after your loved ones in their own home. When I visit my father he now looks clean, tidy and cared for. He is a lot happier.
I am an active lady in good health. Unfortunately, I had a bad fall and broke my leg. I did not know what to do. I found it very difficult to get around the house and my family live a long way away and were unable to help me. I employed a live-in carer from Rachel Ward Carers until I was able to get back on my feet. They were fantastic, helping me get around my house, getting shopping and even encouraging me to do the exercises I had been given by the physio. I am now fully recovered thanks to my live-in carer.
It is very lonely living on your own when you get older. Nobody to talk to and only the occasional visit from the family. Although I am reasonably mobile and can get out, I am always worried about going out alone in case anything happens. All this changed when Rachel came as a live-in carer. She is such a nice caring lady. She has even been dancing with me in the kitchen. I could not ask for more.
Thank you for looking after my husband. He had been a very active and sporting man and became very depressed when he was unable to walk due to a large ulcerous sore on his leg. Until we employed you, he had only been visited once a week by a nurse to change his dressing. Once you came as a live-in carer his life changed. His leg soon became better. You gave it regular attention. His quality of life really improved. Please accept a big thank you from me and all his family.
